Its my pleasure to announce, on behalf of Wayne Racinowski, that we will, in the very near future, see a major update to his famous bushings chart.

I popped Wayne a mail the other day to find out if there was any planned upgrades and he informed me that there definitely is somethinhg in the pipeline.

BUT.... (there's alweays a damn but...)

In order for this to work and keep the continued maintenance down Wayne is asking for some help please.

If you know of a kit that does not feature in the current 2010 chart, please post in this thread. If you have access to the actual kit and can populate an excel file with the required ACCURATE data (as far as I know the same as the current chart data) please do so. Alternatively, mail Wayne (email address to follow)

Wayne informed me that he was offered assistance in putting this information into a Filemaker database and making the info available on the net but this never came to much. If you are able to assist in this regard please let us know in this thread.

This project is massive and I can only imagine how much time Wayne has put into it so a huge thank you to him for all the hard work.

I would love to see the new version and in order to see that materialise we need to help get the data to Wayne.

If you have ever made use of this chart PLEASE make a concerted effort to try and help.

Thanks for reading my long winded post

Cheers

Pen Kit Bushing & Tube Dimensions

Thanks Terry for your tenacity. I do need help with this effort. I've been working on an upgrade for close to a year. It's been difficult to focus on this overwhelming project.

Please do help with this project. It is meant to be a good centrally located chart for all. I'll post a blank version of this chart as an Excel spreadsheet soon.

Please feel free to contact me directly: wracinowski@wi.rr.com

love the chart
i end up messing up a blank, every now and again, and with of the kit's instructions they dont post the tube lenths, the bushing sizes but not the length. i usually have exta tubes around but need that dimension!!
so thanks for all that work

Pen Kit Bushing and Tubing Dimensions

Rob, that sounds very cool! What database would this be? For what it's worth, I'm an old Unix guy. PM me to discuss this offline if you would like.

I was beginning to develop a Filemaker Pro version that would be a web based query. So far this is on hold. Volunteer that was going to host and create it got busy.

I've also been looking for someone to develop an app for smart phones using a database. The hope would be that anyone could use a run-time license of the database for no charge.

I am willing to purchase a license if it were easy enough to develop the DB. I want a DB that would allow images to be included also. There are quite a few DBs out there but I'm not willing to invest in an app unless I know it would work.

I hadn't even thought of the smart phone idea ... that would be cool. I have looked up via my phone's browser things like drill bit size while out in the shop (others would call it the shed behind my house). It's kind of painfully slow that way (Sprint doesn't do 4G here in New Orleans but is putting it in in places like Tupelo, MS!?!?). I've done some Android dev, but no iPhone. Let me sleep on this (12 hour day - 4th day of a major go live), and see what I can think up.

I'm also a 'nix guy (HP-UX and AIX at the hospitals), Linux on the web servers. Been running 'nix platforms since the SCO days.

How much more difficult would it be to be able to click on the heading and have the names listed alphabetically or bushing sizes listed by size? I have some bushings that got misplaced and I'm not sure what components they are for. If I could list them by size it would be easy to find where they go.
Thanks for the effort that you are putting in for this project. I have found the chart very useful many times.

It can be very convenient and simple to make a Google-doc spreadsheat. It is basically same as excel, but can be edited or viewed from any environment (PC, Mac, smartphone, even old java phone) from internet browser. And it's really easy to open it to public to correct and fill voids. Consider it. And any excel document can be converted in it!

Very nice indeed,

I may have some of the missing info

I'll check and input the info

Many thanks,

this certainly will be very beneficial

AND it is a tedious taks

I see I have not been logged in here since 2009. Well I have turned a couple of pens but did literally kinda drop out.
I really like the idea of this chart being in Excel. It's not hard to copy out the data you need and not have to print all the pages to get it.

Good job on getting this all together.
