Just a heads up that there is a nasty Fake Alert virus that targets Google search users. After the PC is infected, anytime Google search is used the virus redirects the browser. Lots of chatter about it and tons of suggestions to fix it that don't fix it. McAfee and Malwarebytes and other anti-virus and malware removal tools find fragments of it but cannot remove it. The virus exploits a vulnerability in the Windows file naming convention. The virus uses a file name like sample.pdf.exe to infect and reinfect the PC. Windows sees it as an exe but the user only sees sample.pdf. What you download is an exe file not a pdf file.
Fix is to roll back to a Restore Point in Vista or Windows 7 if possible or reinstall the Windows OS.
