Ever wonder what the dog does all day while you're at work?

I stayed home sick today, and realized she has a pretty good gig. Little guard duty by the window (you know for squirrels, rabbits and deer), little nap in the sun, maybe later a few treats. Not a bad deal. ;)

Nice job she has. I am awaiting a call today ( I hope) about a 9 yr old Siberian Husky. I have without the companionship of a dog for too long. They make a world of difference in our lives don't they?

Doing what dogs do best

Dogs - they truely are man's best friend. If a person ever met me and fussed over me when I returned home like my dogs do they'd be in line for half my kingdom.

when one of us isnt home, ours sits on the stairs of the back porch to get an elevated view of the driveway .... waiting ... waiting .... They are fun to watch when you are working in your shop ...

She's a beauty. Dobies are the greatest friends I have even had. Mine is a big male, the biggest I have had, when someone comes, he sends my wife's poodle in to check it out! Very brave.

And I thought we had a great looking girl. She is a real beauty. Don't you just love how they cross their arms when they are laying like that. We have a beauty and a clown. Can you guess which is which?

One of my Shepherds holds my recliner down for me when we aren't here, the other 4 sit at the door and watch her and wonder why she gets the hard work detail.

Until I saw this picture of a Doberman head-on, I never realized the stunning similarity to a Rottweiler, and then checked Google and realized the Rottie was one of the breeds that likely was used to develop the line. The tan markings on the black coat are identical to a Rottweiler.

We rescued our Rottie and age 5, and she is going on 11. One of the sweetest dogs I've ever owned. I guess she doesn't realize she is supposed to be fierce. She is quite leery of our cat, a Calico. And if you know cats, the Rottie shows great intelligence in keeping her distance from that Calico (named Monster by our girls, some 16 years ago). Taylor mostly lays around these days. She lost her best friend, Allie, our Great Pyrenees, in October. Allie was almost 13. I still struggle with her loss. Cannot imagine life without dogs.
