Ever Hear of A Glaze Finish for Wood Turnings?

I saw someone on ETSY that said he finished his small turned projects using a glaze finish. Anyone ever hear or use this. It was a high gloss deep finish just like glaze on ceramics.

Anytime is donut time!
This is our kitchen clock. Is has a date of 1962 on it. One of my aunts neighbors used to work there!...still running!
Favorite is Krispy Kreme......45 minutes from here.
