European olive root and amboyna burl

Hi all!

These are my first 'serious' pens after trying out the CA finish on some apprentice kits. An european olive root cigar and an amboyna burl CSUSA aero kit. Twelve coats of thin CA, MM12k + flannel polishing:

The olive roots was donated by a neighbor.

Those olive roots don't even look like wood... some sort of underground organic melanoma:

I published an ad seeking wood and someone called me with those olive roots pieces he wanted to get rid of, and he happened to be right around the corner from where i live. :biggrin:
