I was looking a few things up on Etsy today and was amazed at the amount of PDF tutorials there are. Can anyone shed light on how these are created or a good starting point to research the process? I peel potatoes and boil water for a living so much of the technological world is beyond my comprehension.

There are any number of PDF software programs that have create functions.
Due to a problem with the company adobe and their attitude, I try to avoid all their products as much as possible. I use this one
Foxit PDF Reader: The Best Free PDF Reader to Create, Annotate, Form Fill, View, and Print PDFs go to the web site it has the info on it.

Here is another one
pdfforge.org | The free PDF Creator and Converter most of the info is contained on their sites.

There are others out there, but I find to many aren't as find one that you like and can understand.

Thanks! I will check out those sites. It will be interesting to find out how they package the PDF for sale and how it is accessed after someone purchases it. Might have to ask a couple of the folks selling them and see if they can shed some light on the subject.

Typically when I have bought PDF tutorials they are sent via email after the purchase is made either via automated response or someone actually sending it to you. The automated response typically links to a separate website for download. I believe the protection settings can be made so that they can not print or edit the file with out the password you set up but nothing stops them from just distributing it to anyone they please unless you actively pursue them.
