Came across this estate sale this past weekend out on my daily walk in the morning and thought I would stop in and check it out. Boy am I glad I did. Found a number of nice quality items from this house. But the best were these two oak tool chests. Yes they are newer and not antiques but very clean and look like they had barely been used. The woman collected jewelry and i believed stored it in these boxes. My wife wanted both for her jewelry but I said I found them and she can have the smaller one.

I have one like the big one... siting in my study/office right now.... back when I was a prolific pen maker, carried my entire inventory in it along with accessories... I could take it, sit it on my table and often got more offers for the tool box than I did for my pens.
My boys gave it to me for father's day years ago and I treasure it.

I have a rare wife that doesn't really like jewelry... I've not seen her in a pair of earrings since our wedding day, she didn't want a diamond for an engagement ring.. she picked out a blue topaz. She does wear a kecklace/pendant when she dresses, but they are all costume jewelry. She doesn't wear a watch... but neither have I for most of the last 30 years.

We have a lot in common the way it sounds. I never wore a watch all my life (62 years) used to carry a old railroad pocket watch (on occasions) from my great grandfather he used to use when working for the railroad. I never even got a wedding band when we got married. Barrowed her dads just to look official at the wedding. Guess you can tell I don't like jewelry.
My wife too only buys good quality costume jewelry. I think she likes buying more than wearing tho.

Wearing a watch all my life. I feel naked without it. There were no cell phones where you walk around with them in your hands 24 hours a day. You see this so much today. people just can not put them down and to carry this huge thing in a pocket is something that just can not wrap my head around. I would sit on it and crack it. This is why I am holding off getting the smart phones. I just may go back to a flip phone and clip on my belt. They need 3 hands today. I always needed a watch for the job. In construction there are no clocks hanging in midair. Phones went from being downsized to as small as possible and now they are growing. Like walking around with a 60" TV on the hand.

I don't even own a cell phone believe it or not. I don't weary about time. The young kids I work with laugh at me because I don't own a phone.
