Ernie (eborraga) gave me this blank at our last local chapter meeting. He did a great job of casting these antler chunks. I matched it up with a Gold Ti Cigar. Thanks Ernie!

one of these days. One of these days, with enough catches and blow outs under my belt, just maybe I'll be able to turn something this nice. Great job.

Dang Chuck, that's a sweet looking pen. Did you finish with CA or leave the natural feel?? Gerry (Chasper) was the one who showed me how he casts his antlers. Since then I've cast about 30 of them.

Dang Guys, Y'alls doing some nice stuff, I like the idea of casting chunks and small pieces of antler, looks good to me, That Hill Billy Jones guy is gettin pretty crafty. Chuck you did good on the chuncks I guess them deer come from Canada???sorta like Canucks?:biggrin::biggrin: The  Made me say that!!!!

Looks nice good idea.
Just a couple questions.
I would think it was cast in black resin do you know if it was PR or Alumilite.
Did you paint the tube & the inside of the blank.
I would be worried about painting the inside of the blank as paint mite bleed into the pith of the antler.
Doesn't look like you had that problem looks nice and clean good contrast.

VERY NICE

Thank you Bruce. I used the black nickel tubes from Beartoothwoods. NO painting ! I think Ernie could have put a little more coloring in the mix as it does get just a little transparent close to the tubes.
