engraving a pen center band

hi guys i have a woman that i work with is wanting a pen done for her boy friend and she wants the center band engraved to say one day at a time is this something that can be done due to the size of the bad. the pen is a european style pen pm me if anyone can help

As I understand it, engraving on plated things (like kit components) is prone to problems. On the other hand, I've had plated (non-pen) items engraved successfully in the past, so you could try it.

If it doesn't work, you could get a solid metal CB made by a custom jeweler, or buy one from Silver Pen Parts. (Depending on the customer's budget, you could get all the parts from Silver Pen Parts. He's a member here at the IAP, too!)

Sounds like a great opportunity to dump the metal kit band and switch to a nice custom turned wood or resin band. Nobody would have trouble engraving wood / resin.
