Emerald Ash Borrer shell

This is a full scale CSA Parrott shell, 3 1/2 x 12", from witness wood done for the Supt of the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg. As I was turning it I came across all of these Emerald Ash Borrer trails and holes which took lots of CA and shaving dust to fill. This is the one of 2 he chose to show the cemetery board what was destroying the tree they didn't want cut down.

I love what those little critters do to wood but hate that they kill the trees. I have gotten a lot of wood with live bugs still in the wood. great job.

Great Piece.

I have an Ash Tree in my back yard they are welcome to. Damn wood is just too brittle for my taste. Every wind storm leaves another 3" diameter limb laying on the ground and the damn thing sends shoots everywhere it has a root.
