Has anyone had luck quitting smoking using vapor? SWMBO told me to quit or our health insurance will be increasing 100 bucks a month.

Not me BUT i know a guy who knows a guy that knows his brothers 3 wifes 2nd cuz knows a guy who knows a girl that....he thinks stopped..

one of my co workers has not smoked in 6 mo he used the vapor stuff

I know a few that have gone from tobacco to e-cigarettes, all of them still use nicotine in their e- cigs. Probably less harmful, but still some adverse health effects from nicotine itself.

Been 31 years since I gave up a 3 1/2 pack a day habit. I have little doubt that I would be not be alive today had I not done so.

The only way to quit is to quit.

And the only effective motivation to quit is that you truly want to be a non smoker instead of a smoker.

You only have to give up one cigarette to quit, the one you are wanting right now. Just don't smoke it and you'll find the intense craving for it leaves after a short while. When it returns, just give up that one cigarette again and you'll start noticing the periods of craving become farther between and increasingly less intense (especially after about the first 3 days). You only have to deal with the cigarette you are wanting right now, not every one you will ever want all at once.

Eventually you'll realize that you no longer have any trouble resisting them, and then that you have become a non smoker instead of a smoker.

And you only gave up one cigarette to do it.

It does help to develop other behaviors to fill whatever personal need you were filling with a cigarette if you want to stay a non smoker for the rest of your life, much more of a challenge than actually quitting in my experience since you have to identify exactly what you were using those things for in the first place (both emotionally and psychologically).

Yes. Hard part is finding one you like. I don't care for any of the sweet stuff or candy/fruit things. I smoked cigs cause I liked to...I also like Cigars and no plans to give them up, but I don't smoke them as often. I tested out several different ones and found I like the E-Slick brand. I get the "Smoke" liquid, 1.6%.

I have a lot of "Mark TEN" coupons from the mail. I'm going to try it as well since it's free.

I do a lot of work on computers at home, so my biggest problem is grabbing a smoke out of habit. That was hard to break. If I'm busy outside, I don't even think about smoking. I never smoke in a vehicle.

Never been a smoker myself but I know many who have quit smoking and picked up "vapeing." I think it's great, sure nicotine isn't good for you just like caffeine isn't good for you. But, a little nicotine is a lot better than all the carcinogens in cigarettes PLUS the nicotine. That, my friend, is a fact.

I vape and smoke, i really enjoy the flavors of the vape and the fact its pretty much completely customizable if you desire. I will quit again, i went well over 6months on vape only, just let my self get back on the nastys. I vape in the car and the house and only smoke a few analog smokes outside in open air. I would suggest something like an e-go twist to start out, forget the convience store throw aways. Youll be much happier with a tank style.

Started smoking at age 12 and never saw fit to quit...Odd thing is that when I have to go without smoking it doesn't particularily bother me. Never tried the e-cigarettes though. I notice now the "anti-smoking" folks want to ban them inside even though they present no health hazard...

The only way I was able to quit was chewing the Nicotine gum. I could put a box of the patches on and smoke a carton of cigarettes with no adverse effects. I started with the highest does of the gum and chewed that for two months then went to the lower dose and did the same.

My wife smoked for 30+ years and quit with the help of the Ecig. I know it is mostly a mental thing, she had to be ready to quit, but the ecig definitely did help. And because she had quit for a year, our health insurance went down, a LOT, and her life insurance policy went down by around $40 a month. :) Imagine the tools and toys that would buy. :) :) I wish anyone who is thinking about quitting good luck!

Plenty of friends that have...over a dozen. Watch the dose of nicotine, it varies and you can end up worse off than before!

I quit using a vape. They work. I would suggest that you go to a shop and talk to them, tell them how much you smoke and when, they can turn you on to the right machine. Expect to spend a little dough, it's like anything else you get what you pay for. I dropped almost 200$ on my current model. Sounds like a lot? Three packs a day at 7$.... Didn't take long at all to pay for itself. The health risks with vaping are almost nonexistent compared to cigs.

For me, the mental "habit" of smoking was much harder to get over than the Nicotine itself.

I chewed the nicotine gum for a few months while I got over the "ritual" aspects of the habit.

Then I switched over to sugarless gum. Been smoke free for 5 1/2 years. But even now, every once in a while, I catch myself reaching for the pack in certain situations. Weird how strong the attachment can be
