My shop is 12'X 16' at 8.5' high. I want to filter the dust from turning and sanding. I have a dust collector on my lathe and sander and exhaust fan.

I was looking at the JET 708620B AFS-1000B 3 Speed Air Filtration System on Amazon for 369.99. It says for 20' X 20' at 8' high.

Would that be overkill for my size shop? Any other suggestions or recommendations appreciated.

You cannot have to much filtration. The Jet unit you list would be a minimum. Be sure to clean/replace filters often and buy the best grade available. Cheap filters do not remove enough of the airborne particals. Wear a mask.

I agree !! Look at the CFM of the unit and the Micron number of the filters. The smaller the number, the better the filter. The larger the CFM, the cleaner the air. Jim S
