Well up until today my shop has been 75% house storage and 25% shop. Today that changed. I pulled all of the crap out and reorganized the garage and made it fit all the while making room for my wifes car. Now in the shop I have my Shopsmith, my new used Delta Bandsaw, Lathe, Miter Saw and a new HF dust collector that just came in. eventually the DC will go outside in a lean-to on the shop but I want to set it up and use it well before that. My plan is to run 4" grounded PVC (I already have a 10' stick so I only need 2 more) along the ceiling with about four 4-5' drops to my tools w/ Blast Gates. For the most part it will be 1 run except for the Lathe is going to be on the other side of the shop.

So yada yada yada....get to the question. The DC is a 2HP 3450rpm motor with a 4" feed. Will that produce enough suck on a 4" pipe to lift the dust and debris up to 88" (floor sweeps) up and up to 15'-18' across? My shop is a 12x20 shed.

I am also working on insulating while I do all this and will be hanging peg board 100% around the top 4' and 3/8" ply on the bottom half. Hopefully an AC will find its way into the shop this summer.
