duct tape pen blank

My sister in law makes amazing things out of duct tape.

I would like to make her a pen with a duct tape theme.

I was thinking originally of duct tape cast in clear resin ( or something) like the circuit board blanks. Possibly have a section have the logo or something on it.

I am open to other ideas on this theme.

I am looking for someone to make / cast such a pen blank for me.

Another option would be for you to turn a wood pen blank below the thickness you need for the pen kit using. Then cover it in your layer of duct tape. Then build up your layers of ca on top of it.

Here's one that I helped my granddaughter make a few months ago

We simply wrapped 2 layers of duct tape around the slimline tubes to build it up to the right thickness & just left it like that with no finish. It worked well for our purposes, but if it was going to get heavy use, a CA finish would probably be wise.

Thanks you just gave me and idea. My Granddaughter is a Duct Tape person make all kinds of stuff. I have a bunch of extra Sierra tubes and she has 40 roll of duct tape. Cut the tape with an Xacto knife for clean sharp edge over lap it and trim again to get the two end to match and lay down. Finish it in WD-40:rotfl: CA finish would probably work we will try it this weekend. Will try some different finishes, spray Polyurethane or other spay clear finish.

Why not stabilize it then cast in PR ?

Seal it w/CA, gas out and then pour! BE SURE TO SEAL THE ENDS OF THE TUBE/TAPE W/CA TOO.
