Drill Press

I've been unhappy about the Rikon-drill press I bought. I'm unhappy about the measuring devise that is on the press. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea how I can afix a measuring tape that can show the dept of the quill so I known how far the bit has done. Somewhat like the delta machines.

Send me a photo and I am sure there is a way to do it. My first thought is a pointer and a 6" metal ruler. You could go fancy and set up a dial indicator (With a LONG throw anyway!)

You can always "lock" the quill down and set the DP Table to limit drilling depth...
