Getting ready to produce my first Statesman. Can't find a 37/64 drill bit anywhere. Should have ordered one from Craft Supplies but didn't.
Is there another size that's close that can be used ? I know this is really a stupid question but thought I'd ask anyway.[8][?]
Thanks......................................

The hard thing is going to be finding it.
Most borg's on stock drills up to 1/2 in. shank because that's the biggest size of Joe Home owners drill chuck

Try a tool shop that caters to contractors and metalworking shops.. www.use-enco.com, or local shops sometimes have them.. up north here we have "Tool Crib of the North" etc.. or if you know a guy who works at a machine shop or foundry, see if he can borrow or buy one from their tool crib.

Not a stupid question. This situation plagues all pen turners, especially beginners. Do a search under 'conspiracies'. [}:)]

Bryan,
I've had luck at a couple of smaller hardware stores. Like Ace.
I had to ask for them though. they opened up there storage cabinet to get them cause they don't keep them displayed. good price also.
