I had a couple Bethelehem Olive Wood blanks in the bottom of my blank box, never used because they only had nice grain on about half the blank.
So rather than pitch them, I decided to have them join forces!
Starting with some half-bland blanks:

Cleaned the edges and glued in some walnut veneer for some "camoflage" of the seam:

More cleanup - all the good grain character is now in the middle of the combined blank:

Cut off the plain wings to square the blank:

And treat it like any other - "double or nothing" - sweet success!
