Hey folks,

I am in need of a tutorial type document on how to change the refill in a Sierra style (Finial Twist) pen. Does anyone have one of these that they give out to their customers that they wouldn't mind sharing?

I am donating a bunch of pens to a College Banquet (18 Fountains & 9 Ballpoints) this coming Saturday. I have a good tutorial of Fountain pen 101 from CSUSA that came with the pens but I don't have anything for the ballpoints.

I think it is important to give something since I am not going to be able to personnally show each person how to operate the pens and you know how things can happen with customers......

Anything would be helpful or if you can point me to a good source.

Thanks! PM me and I will give you my email you can send whatever or you can post it here if you want to share with all.

Fred; There is a document in the Wiki. That you can view. I have a separate document very similar to this page that I created because of the issues with Sierra pens.

When I am doing sierra pens, I put a small block in the finial to prevent the transmission from moving too far up into the finial.

Randy,

That is definately a good document for the normal twist Sierras but the finial twist are a little easier as the bottom of the blank has a press fit junction. What you have listed there in Wiki doesn't match the pen style that I am trying to give instructions for. But it is a place to start if nobody else has anything.

Thanks!

Doesn't the nib unscrew on those??? Just tell them to unscrew the nib.

There are so many pen kits in that Sierra line it is hard to keep up.
