Do we need a safety sub forum, in the build and tips or shop, fixtures to keep the info on MSDS, respirators, general safety like the silicious materials etc.?

Sounds like a perfect thing for Wiki. A while back when there was a push to get data on each species of wood, it was tried to be put on Wiki but most didn't know how to use it.
Is it worth another shot?
OK, no more picking on me........:biggrin:Sounds like a perfect thing for Wiki. A while back when there was a push to get data on each species of wood, it was tried to be put on Wiki but most didn't know how to use it.

Good luck with that, Poor Phillywood lost most of the rest of his hair trying to put the wood toxicity and ID chart together.
I do think he was trying to encompass to much data in the project, and I can see where this could be as big of an entanglement with data as his wood and wood safety chart was heading.
Yes I think it would be a very worthwhile endeavor, Just prepare for a lot of bull headed rejection and why do we need this since the info is out there !!(SOME WHERE) if you have time to find it before you stick your fingers in a table saw, or glue your lips together or do any number of things that you might question, but don't know where to look.
Well I didn't lose any fingers....but I came about as close as you can without actually losing them..............But, it wasn't because I didn't know better.Smitty that's my point exactly, Had I a source for safety procedures I would still have 4 full fingers on my left hand.
Of course being a dumb A$$ I probably wouldn't have bothered to read it any way!!
I am a man, I doan need no stinkin instructions!!!

Words to live by, I guess.I am a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.

You're just trying to kill all my entertainment, aren't you?Maybe we can limit it to preventing only things that maim and disfigure and not mention those that actually kill....![]()

I'll pick up the breathing end Tom. Let me know what folks would like to see and I'll get working. Side note...I have no tolerance for people who endanger their lives by not wearing breathing protection, on the other hand, I make a lot of money from treating them!:wink:p.s. Seriously, somebody post a proposed list of categories for the IAP Library Safety section and I'll get her built. Perhaps we could have a volunteer to compile data for each category?

Rule #1: Do not kiss the brand new, super sharp table saw blade while it is still spinning down after the first cut unless you have a SawStop!!!
