DNA blank drying

I just finished drying about five big bowl and vase blanks with DNA. I followed the protocol and sure enough the other day when I checked one with the mm it came up as 6-8 percent. Why didnt I do this earlier. It takes the big jug of a 15 dollor can from Home depot, buttI am not waiting months or years anymore for blanks to dry. There was also almost not cracking in the blanks. nothing a little CA cant fix.

I just started using DNA a couple of months ago... it works.. I have had one piece of Bradford pear crack... I turned a heavy candle stick pair... one split the length of the piece, the other is beautiful... unfortunately, I don't have a moisture meter and have to just guess, but so far it works.

DNA has worked good for me. I have used it on 9 bowls. No cracks, but a 10" oak bowl warped so much I can't return it. Has anyone used DNA on pen blanks? I'm thinking about using it on some wet wet spalted oak.

What is the procedure for drying with DNA?

Rough turn the piece you are working on then soak the piece in DNA (I usually do it over night) then wrap the piece in newspaper leaving the top of the bowl exposed and place it on the shelf for about a week. You might get some cracks but nothing a little CA cant fix. Some of mine still warp in the following two weeks but nothing too bad.

Does that work for green wood for pen blanks?
