What do you use to clean the disk on your sander? I've seen several references to disk cleaning, but I can't find any reference to the product.

I've been sanding some Cocobolo & have been going through way too many disks.

Thanks for your help.

There are some products made specifically for this task, such as http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=271

In a pinch, a rubber sole of an old shoe will do.

Yup - Klingspore for sure:

Take a look here.

Give 'em a call and don't forget to tell them you're with the IAP to get 10% off.

On the other hand, if your belt is loading up it may be because you're getting the wood too hot, especially cocobolo.

I have several around and have been using that type of belt/disc cleaner for 30 to 40 years. Even at $6 to $10, they are worth it if one does a lot of medium to heavy duty sanding.

You can also use broken parts of PVC if you cant find the eraser also the prices are the same on both sites shown one is 2" longer than the other and both are $1.00/inch. Shipping is what will make the difference anyway I would only go through about 1 a year in my production shop with 5 people working. They do last a long time and work like a champ. [^][^]
