So I got my die holder from the Little Machine shop and the question I have is. When you put the die holder onto the #2MT and secure it in place, the straight shaft portion on the MT sticks through the die holder by about 1/4", thus not allowing the die to sit in it's recess. So is the shaft to long and needs to be cut off or am I doing something wrong.??? I know a few of you have them, so were yours the same.??

The die holder is not supposed to be secured. It is supposed to slide on the mt2 mandrel. Put your die in it before you slide it on the mandrel. The die holder is 2 sided. In one side it will hold 1" dies and in the other i believe 13/16 dies. It needs to slide freely on the mandrel so that you can rotate it. thats what the little bar is for, to put in the side of the holder for more support as you turn it.

I made the same mistake the fist time

Thanks Justin, that makes a whole lota sense. It's funny as the step on the mandrel fits perfect in there the way you see it in the picture. I thought the large end was a little sloppy for both the 13/16th die's and 1" die's. Thanks again now gota go try it.
