Hey guys!

Just a heads up - I have come across some PSI bolt action kits that have cracks in the front end where the tip screws on to. I had sold a completed pen at a market and a few days later my customer contacted me and said she found it cracked. I did not notice a crack when I made the pen but I could have missed it. I check a few of the kits I had on hand and found another with a crack. I contacted my supplier (William Wood Write - can't say enough good things about them - they're awesome!) and they sent me a couple of replacement parts. I check the new parts and they were fine but a couple of days later, when I went to use one of them, it had also cracked.

I suspect either the heat treat of the brass was wrong or the forming process has introduced too much stress and "work hardened" the metal. If you have any kits or completed pens in stock you may want to have a close look at them to see if yours are defective as well. Hopefully this is just an isolated incident as these kits are very popular!

Thanks for this warning !
I know that this kit is very popular and people deserve to know about the possible problem .

For what it's worth, they are from PSI. William Wood Write gets them from them and they are still in the PSI labeled bags.
Sorcerertd - I've only seen it on the brass finish so far.

Wow I better look closer at mine. I have about 20 made gold, chrome and gun metal. I'm at a show and will look in the morning
