A friend just gave me a set of white-tail deer antlers and I was wondering if these things are solid or hollow. I have never seen inside one and it might make a difference in how I cut them for turning. It was a small deer and I will have to be careful not to waste them.
Some people think trophy mount - some think ball point pens. How's that for diversity?

The antlers are solid inside. The center is marrow and it is the softest part. For me, I like to coat the antler with CA when I'm using any with the marrow exposed.

Excellant for pens they turn nicely just make sure to wear a breathing mask. You dont want to breathe in the dust.
