Today for lunch around Noon-time I went to Burger King to use a BK Bundle coupon. $9.99 for a Whopper, Whopper Jr, 10pc Nugget, 3 Small Fries, 3 Small Drinks. On the way there I saw in an adjacent parking lot a homeless guy holding a sign requesting help of any kind. I saw a few people stop and give him something. On my way out of Burger King after requesting a small bag, I honked my horn, pulled up and asked him when he ate last. He said earlier in the morning he had a little something. I handed him the small bag and said there was a Whopper Jr, Small Fry and here is a Coke to drink. He was extremely grateful for the offering. I feel good about myself and hopefully he'll be full for a little while today.

Not looking looking for Karma or attaboys, just wanted to share a small experience from today. :)

How many weeks of calories, grams of salt, sugar, and fat, do you get with a BK bundle like that? Nice deed for the guy, but he might last longer if he hangs around a farmer's market!

I'm sure it isn't the healthiest thing to eat. I shouldn't even eaten some of what I had. But some food is better than no food. When you are hungry and low on funds you won't be to picky. :)

Last guy I tried to hand a meal to like that turned it down. Said he was more interested in beer. I left giving him nothing. On the other hand I do this all the time for stray dogs. They are always thankful.

My mother never gave anyone money, but always bought them a meal. I grew up watching her do this and had adopted the same idea, which I have passed onto my children. I consider it an act of kindness to feed people. I carry in my car a bag of food, just in case I meet someone who is hungry. Feels good to feed people.
I am glad that you, Larry, did such an act of kindness. Thank you for doing it.
There but for the grace, go you and I.
