decal frustration

Did some Gatsby pens and Slimline-pro's with our school logo and had very good success. But, I am trying to put about a 3/8 x 3 decal on an ice cream scoop and not having good results. The long edges are tending to curl on me as I slide the decal off of the paper. Trying to think of what I am doing wrong. Maybe too wide of decal? Too large of curved surface? Any Ideas? Maybe have to sand a flat area for the decal? All help appreciated. Will have pics later as I am on a different computer.

Warm them up a bit

Warm them up a bit

That might help, I use warm water to soak em.
Also cut your decals close to the picture.

You may be leaving them in the water too long. Check that out.

Thanks for the help guys. Think my problem was two fold, that is the handle be curved in two directions. I scaled down my decal, cut it closer to the design and had success this morning. Now to finish and get it shipped to the individual.
