I know none of you will ever have this problem, but just in case you ever come across someone who does, here it is.

A while back I was turning a bowl of green wood with a waste block I had epoxied on. After I turned it to rough shape I put it in DNA to soak with the waste block still on. The next day when I took it out the waste block had come off and the remaining epoxy was soft. I filed that in the back of my mind as some interesting trivia and went on to other matters.

Last Tuesday I epoxied some tubes in pen blanks and went in the house to wait for it to dry. When I came back out one tube had slid half out of the blank and hardened.:( Decided to give the DNA a try and see what happens. After the first day the epoxy on the surface of the blank had come off but the tube was still stuck. Tossed it back in the DNA and checked it every day or two. Well today it worked, I was able to push the tube back into the blank.[^] Now I just have to wait till the blank dries again and I can try turning it and see what the effect was of soaking for a week in DNA.

I had an awl that I made with the gblade epoxied into the mahogany handle.
I wanted to replace the blade, so I put about an inch of acetone in the bottom of a peanut butter jar (empty and cleaned). I added the awl with the blade down and screwed on the lid. In about a week the fumes had loosened the epoxy enough to remove the blade. The wood was slightley darker than when I started but dry and otherwise unchanged.
