Been there, done that. I have a few "finished" blanks laying around the house that need "fixed" - yet every time I look at the I get that ARRGGHHH feeling.

What...?:eek: what's wrong with you mate...???:frown:

Now, I looked at all the pics and I will damn if I see anything wrong with them, the grain is aligned, you got the the right way so, I don't understand...!:confused:

Did you realize that, the diameter difference between the 2 barrels is what is causing the alignments to change...??? That is just a rule of physics mate.

Explain to me, what you saw so wrong...!:smile:

Cammon, I'm waiting...!:rolleyes::biggrin:

PS: Maybe someone needs to see the optometrist...!:eek::bulgy-eyes::laugh:

Cheers

I had something similar, so not knowing I decided to try something that made sense or at least it did to me. I gathered the fine sawdust from the turning not the shavings that was about the same color as the cracked area and used thin CA and filled the crack and worked it in and let sit for a while and it turned out OK. To me I new what it was but to the unsuspecting eye no one knew the difference.

Well, I did say that, "someone" had to see the optometrist, apparently that person is me, how could I have missed that...??? I reckon I was looking for the grain alignment, as I thought that you had messed out on the barrel's half's position however, I was looking in the wrong places.

Geezzz, I know my eyes are getting pretty bad, I use 3 sets of glasses depending on what I'm doing, I may have had the wrong set on, excuses, excuses...!:frown::smile:

Cheers

Shoot - I thought all pens had cracks! Maybe it is just me.:eek: I have become an expert at invisible repairs :redface:

Send your tired, your cracked, your hopeless blanks to me...

Harry

I had something similar happen today. All my fault, but a pen I spent about 4 hours on is nothing more than a give away to my son. Otherwise it would be one I keep in my drawer. So as someone above said "Been there done that."

Would we get the same satisfaction out of pens if they all came out perfect?
