I did an exposed clip ring for the first time. Maybe I'll try a cap band.

This is another pen in the shape of the Sailor King of Pens. I'm addicted to this style.

I shaped the 5/8" ebonite section a little differently by tapering it down to a fairly small diameter at the front end. I like the way they look with a narrow waist.

Cartridge/converter. Two-tone number 6 Meisternib.

Great job Robert. I like the exposed clip ring, and the section. I think you're right about the band. Not just because I did a tutorial though. Love the material.

Cool design!! And the finish on everything look mighty clean too!!

Does having a shorter section help with the handling of the pen for the writer, or is it more of a visual thing? I only ask cause I don't know....

I really like that. The black ebonite front section compliments the black swirls in the blank. I'm a little biased toward the exposed clip ring myself, too. When you say the front section is 5/8", I assume you are referring to the length and not the diameter? I know, possibly a dumb question, but I had to ask.

As far as I'm concerned, the shape is a design feature. I have used the pen and will say that it's comfortable and I like the shape. But mostly I went with it for looks.

Yep, the length is 5/8". Credit Justin and Doc with the idea.

Cool, thanks for the answer. Certainly makes the overall length of the pen much shorter too. I like!!!!

Man, Robert - another beauty! I really love these Sailor-like shapes you are doing.

Cap band...no cap band...either way, it's going to look fantastic.
