This was an anniversary present for my wife. Holds her journal now (with a pen I made in it as well, of course).
Curly red oak, the lid is curly ash. The handle is curly red oak with (you guessed it) curly ash. The keys are zebrawood, I think they really make this box "pop".
Danish oil finish. The final coat of danish oil had about 30% polyurethane added to it to harden the topcoat--- which was (once cured) was hand rubbed with #0000 steel wool and waxed.
