Curly Maple

Hello all! I'm having a maple tree removed. It's looking pretty rough. I, of course, would like to save some of the wood. Where am I most likely to find some curly stuff? Maybe the underside of the boughs where they come off the trunk?

Perhaps also near the base of the tree . The weight of the tree puts the fibres under a lot of compression .
