I've been here for a while and am curious about something. When you post a new thread, why doesn't it show up on the "new posts" page each time?

I posted a new one on the cheers & jeers page (a cheer) and it doesn't show when I pull up the new posts page. It happens all the time. No big deal, just curious.

AFAIK, the "new" posts are only new posts you have not read. So since you posted it, and after you post it it brings you to it, you don't see it. If you click the "New Posts" link, read the first thread, then click the "New Posts" link again, the thread you just read will not be there.. unless someone posts something while you are reading it...
 
Todd is correct.

If you WANT to see those, use the "Quick Links, Today's posts"---it shows all the threads, even those upon which you have commented last.
 
I think there is some sort of bug, a lot of times I will have IAP open as a tab and have noticed if I am doing other things in other tabs and come back, it doesn't always show everything that is actually new since the last time I was in the IAP tab. I only know because there were times where threads popped up as new a couple days later (and the first time I was seeing them) that show they started when I know I had IAP as a tab.

Hmm..did that make sense?
