Two Barons with Eagle's cross inlays, destined to be Christmas gifts for family members. One is mahogany with a bloodwood and holly cross inlay, the other has blood wood and purpleheart cross.

I like them both a lot. I also like the subdued look of the second. Both great designs and well turned. Thanks for sharing.

Eileen,

I like them both; perhaps it is the dramatic difference in the amount of contrast. The second one actually is my favorite. It looks almost like a stained glass panel. The denomination I grew up in had mixed feelings about "graven images" and I think the purpleheart cross might appeal to someone who wanted to make a subtle statement.

Excellent work, Eileen and Eagle.

The first one has a "richer" look IMO, but both are certainly wonderful gifts. (I like the "give the neighbor a pen" approach, but maybe a nice walnut - simple, understated and not real expensive!!)
