Hello, I've got a couple of questions for those of you that either turn crochet hooks, both kits and non kit hooks, or those of you that like to crochet. What do you find to be the most desirable design? How long should the hook be protruding from the handle? The reason that I ask is because I will be making my own kit, I purchased a set of metal hooks and will be cutting them down to fit in a custom handle, so I just need to know how long to cut them. Next, what is the preferred handle design, length, diameter, and contour? I have seen some that are really long, really short, really fat, and really "bubbly", but what kind of feedback have you received as far as what people really find comfortable to use.
I am making these for my daughter for Christmas, I can't really ask her what she likes to use, or she will know what I am doing.
