My son got married this weekend at a beautiful outdoor venue on the grounds of the Guiterrez-Hubbell House museum in the bosque of the Rio Grande here in beautiful Albuquerque. Just behind the ceremony site was an arroyo with some dead, old trees. Check out these trunks. Think there are some cool looking pens and bowls in there somewhere? Too bad I can't cut into them. Oh well, off to Albuquerque Exotic Woods for some possible substitutes!

Older than old

Just to add some intrigue… The oldest living trees on earth right now are, hands down, the Bristlecone Pine Trees that are throughout the Rocky Mountain West, California, and Arizona. These trees have been dated as far back 5062 years ago….3062 BC! …They have been around during some pretty monumental times...

...and to think that I used to scoff at those ugly tree trunks. Now I crave finding these fine burl specimens.
