Well, I have been getting enough emails I feel this post is needed.

I do not know if there is going to be a MPG this year. Last year Rich Coers did a fine job running the show. This year I believe he is planning something but with a different venue. For me, some time back I began to lose interest and now I have no interest at all in pen turning. I even sold The Pen Shop forum. I started and had continued to turn as a form of artistic expression. Well, after a while I found that one can only go so far with a pen. I have jumped back into airbrushing and custom painting with a renewed vigor and cannot conceive why I laid my airbrushes down to begin with.

There have been good times and not so good times. I have met some really great people, and some not so great. I leave the craft/hobby/art with more good memories than not so good ones.

So remember, look up Rich, Low48, for information on the MPG.

What!

Hmmmm, what is an MPG? I'm a little old and slow, so I need a little help here.

MPG is the Midwest Penturners Gathering... Cozee started it in Champagne/Urbana, but this year I think it's moved to Bloomington, Ill.

Thank you

Thanks guys

Greg is a great guy, and always put on a wonderful event. The venue was great, the union hall and members were also some of the best guys around. Attendance was always good and I have made some nice friends over the past 5 years. I was asked last year, by a mutual friend of Greg and I, if I would consider taking over last year. I sure didn't want to loose the tradition of this event. This year, I just wanted to move it a little closer to home, and more central in the state. I don't know the exact count, but I believe there are more hotels/motels in Bloomington as well. Several guys had to stay as far away as Danville when we met in C/U. So we will see how it goes. Thanks for posting Greg. I'll try to post at least every other week as the planning goes on. Stay tuned!
