I can now see why wood is so exspensive. It took me two hours to cut a cedar tree down into 20 bowl blanks. Now if I just had a bandsaw to round them up. My back still hurts. I have a couple of questions.

1. After sealing end grain with Anchorseal will the blanks be ok if they just sit in the garage to dry?

2. Debating on wheather to cut some oak. Oak has split on me in the past and wondering of it is worth the work. Last time it was sealed and it still split.

1 should be fine

2 If the oak cracks even sealed try turning it while it's green, it's easier to turn while green. If you've never turned green wood, you turn it to rough shape and then dry it. If you do a search you will find there are lots of methods of drying it after you have rough turned it.
