I found a couple of garage sale deals this weekend. The firs one was a homemade drum sander for $30 with a lot of extra sandpaper for the drum. He also sold me a large tupperware tub filled with cocobolo and other exotic wood for $20. I estimate that I got over $200 worth of wood.

The next one was a duracraft drill press on a rolling stand for $40. The guy was asking $50 for it. This will replace my small craftsman drill press (I sold the Craftsman to a coworker for $40). The duracraft runs great and has a crank table which my old drill press doesn't. I have; already done the cloths hanger trick to get the table perpendicular to the shaft. Now I will be able to mount my drill press jig and not have to worry about re-centering every time I change the height of the table. As far as I can tell the drill press is from the late 70's. I looked up other sells for the same model and it looks like they are going for a little less then $100 most of the time.

excuse my messy shop. I have to find a place to put this now.

I have never heard of this trick, care to share this method. Understandably & Respectfully perhaps in another thread?
