Approximately how big in diameter are the cobs you're using before you start turning? Are you doing the CA technique, or stabilizing them yourself?

They are probably an inch or so in diameter. I turn them almost all the way down and use ca.

Thanks! I have some stabilized cobs that I got from RTJW, and some cobs that I dried in my dehydrator after enjoying a nice Independence Day dinner. The ones from home are about the size you described, and I'm curious to give them a try.
