My mother used to make molasses cookies. I need to dig out her recipe & make some - I haven't had one in years.
 
Hmmm, scratch the no pics thing!

No recipe, didn't happen!


Here's my mom's recipe - I hope Curt will post his as well. I love molasses cookies.

Refrigerator Molasses Cookies

Recipe By: Florine Dohmann
Yield: 36 cookies

Ingredients:

- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup dark corn syrup or molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Mix all ingredients and let stand in refrigerator overnight. Roll in balls, then in sugar. Flatten out to bake, 10-15 minutes in 350°F oven.
 
I made sort of Tollhouse on Sunday--no morsels so i used chunks. No Brown Sugar, so i substituted Turbanado. There will be no pics as there are none left. Nice variations!!

Dang Edgar, those make we hungry. And 36 to boot. That ought'ta send my blood sugar off the charts.
