What would be an acceptable time to wait if someone commited to purchase something from you? Last week a member ( I won't identify ) committed to make a buy and after his posting there has been absolutely no contact. He ignored three pm's and an email. Now, this week another individual has made a commitment with no communication afterwards. Is there a problem with the PM system, or am I just lucky enough to find two unsavory characters in a short period of time. Maybe I'm naive believing a man's word is good.

Not everyone comes on here everyday . You should check when the last time they were on before moving on . If a person hasn't been on for a couple of days since they made the commitment to buy all the PM's in the world won't get to them until they log back into the site . If you need to have the money quickly then you should state that any deals must be closed within a certain amount of time or by a certain date .

What are you selling? Did they ask for a papal address or anything?

I just looked at what you were selling, and in the one post you said you had received payment. If via Paypal, wasn't there an address you should send the tools to? I mean, receiving a payment isn't exactly being a deadbeat.

Unless it's the two separate items, then I find this rather rude of them, since they said they would buy from you and then disappeared. You have even sent them PM's and no response. I would keep sending them a daily PM until they stop ignoring you. Of course, they could always block you.

Too bad this site doesn't have a "non-paying bidder" type entry like eBay. Then others won't fall prey to the "yeah I'll buy it....then disappear" that you have.

I just sent you a test PM to make sure nothing is amiss on your id preventing receipt of PMs -- just delete if you get it -- if not, then this is some technical issue.

Re your question, I would say you were unlucky. I've had many transactions on this and other wwing related forums and (knock on wood) never a bad experience.

If the purchaser public profile shows activity after you've sent a PM, then I'd sent polite message that if no response within 24 hours then re-list the item. If no activity then a tougher call as things happen to people and maybe unable to login.

To be honest, I would make a point of logging in every day if I was involved in a PM dialogue re a transaction. If I couldn't login, then something else has happened and I would understand you re-listing while I was otherwise occupied.

Larry,
Apparently I am one of those unsavory characters, It has not been any more than 15 hours since I ask for them and I got and returned your email indicating that I had sent payment. Unfortunately I usually get on the computer 1 time each day so please forgive me for not responding as quickly as you would like. I give somebody 24 hours to respond...thats just me. My Bad 19 hours since I requested your paypal...sorry.
