Colorfast?

Does stabilization help woods keep their natural color longer without fading? Or is it only structural stability that stabilization provides?

My gut reaction is to say that it's only for structural stability. Frankly, the answer isn't that easy. I suppose that it would depend on the method of stabilization and whether the stabilizing material (and finish) has proper UV protection. I don't remember reading anything on this.
