I have for a pen that will write outside and be reliable in cold weather. I am in Northern Michigan and we ave a lot of single digit temps. He wants something the size of a slimline or only slightly larger-----sierra is too big.

Are there any refills that would be best for this?

Thanks,

Fisher Space Pen refills work well for me in cold and wet out of doors-- seldom gets below zero F here in southeast Alaska, but lots of precipitation living in a rain forest.

Best size is a "parker style" refill, and a bit larger pen works easier with gloves.

I agree. The Fisher Space Pen refills will do the job, and you can get it in the cross size for slimline or creekline.
