Ok I know AS has them but I remember or I think I do there was someone that used to make and sale then here. Does anyone remember who and if so does he still sale them?

You can make your own by filing down the end of a HF center punch.

John, thanks that is the one, I was thinking about. Looks like I'll have to make my own. Maybe you could make them.

You don't need a special mandrel for making closed end pens. Check the two articles on closed end pens at http://www.RedRiverPens.com/articles , #13 and #14. Several methods for holding the pen blank are shown. One uses a standard mandrel and a bushing and I use that "alternative" method to turn closed end pens.

There was an article in a recent Home Shop Machinist or Machinist's Workshop that described how to make your own expanding mandrel like the AS ones.
