This weekend I had to clear out some of the smaller trees (6"-12" diameter) in the backyard. Our lot has some huge Oaks and poplars that are starting sqeeze out some of the smallers trees. There was a variety of trees including a Hickory (10"-12"), Sycamor (10-12"), Dogwood (6"), and some other poplars (????) varying in size. I don't have the equipment to plank out the wood and even if I did there is enough to keep someone busy for a while. There is a woodshop at work and I am sure I could do some of it, but it is all green. I cut most of it into 2-3' section, but the Sycamore I left in 4-5' lengths.
If there is anyone close to Greensboro, NC that needs wood for pen blanks and maybe some small bowls please let me know. I would hate to see it go to the local compost facility. It might be worth a trip to the local Woodcraft to see if they might know someone locally that could use it.
