Claro Walnut?

Ok - so, the snakewood didn't work out so well - but I sure learned a lot about what it costs and its stability characteristics.

I've moved on to needing boards (not blocks) of claro walnut. Anyone have any?

Roger, I don't but I was at Clarks Hardwoods in Houston and noticed they had a large Bin of Claro Walnut, 3/4" S4S, 4/4, 8/4 and 12/4 in various widths and lengths. If you can't find any somewhere else, you can find them on the web. Sorry I didn't get the price, I was getting some AWESOME Curly figured Mesquite, Ambrosia Maple, and a little fantastic Partridge Wood.[^]

I have blocks 3 1/2" x 6" x 1" if that helps...

sorry, just checked them, both are missing a corner, length will only be about 5 1/4". I do have Chechen (real nice figure) in the 3 1/2 x 6...
