Well i guess its not woodwork etc... but never the less, its other things i make

This is a product il be releasing soon to the photography market, which analyses the flash of lightning filtering out interferance from artificial lighting via a built in processor and then triggers your cameras shutter allowing you to catch the bolt. Three buttons are on the top which allow you to adjust the sensitivity

This product will go hand in hand with the other design, which is a portable storm monitor, telling you the distance to the storm, and if its moving away or towards you. it can be left in standby at home and when a storm develops it will let you know to get your camera out.

I designed the circuit board, and created my master sheet, which i use on my UV exposure unit to expose the design onto photoresist board.

After this, into the etching tank it goes, before being sliced into sections.

I do love seeing a fresh roadmap on a board. I have been in high tech since the 70s and I always looked at designing a circuit board as a piece of art especially as you look at what you have to fit in a square inch and at what layer.

I have been an extra class ham radio operator for 20 years and have played around with electronics for most of that time. Nice job on this board Brad.

Bouncing off the ionosphere for dxing would be my path of choice. Can see the challenge of long range comms appealing to me

I understood the part in red. After that.............

Ive often considered getting my ham license, though I think I have too many hobbies to allow for the extra time doing it. Its on the back burner for a year when I fancy something new ... CQ CQ CQ ....

Pfft, you don't need a license, you're already a ham!

lol Joe, have to take a test to demonstrate that you knowwhat you're doing with the equipment, and understand ohms law etc

Haynie, yes theres a few on the market, but they are very expensive.
