I'm looking into getting a chuck with multiple adjustable jaws. 8tpi. What are your recommendations and can I find them anywhere cheap (>$150)

I also recommend Nova chucks. I have two G3s and a reconditioned SuperNova. They all perform perfectly and will meet your needs for quite some time. All the jaws that Nova sells fit either chuck.

I also have two OneWay chucks - a Stonghold and a Talon and they perform as well as the Novas, if not a tad bit better.
