I now have a Nova midi chuck and would like one that holds larger pieces. I need some suggestions on what to get. I have a Jet 1240 lathe.

It's not so much the chuck as the jaws. Your chuck will take the different jaws.
The next size chuck body is the g3 then the supernova 2 in that line.
However, out of the box you won't really have greater capacity without different jaws.

NOVA says that anything with a jaw opening greater than about 2 inches is not recommended for the Precision Midi Chuck.
The 75 mm, 100mm, jaws work on any of the larger Nova chucks (G3 - Super Nova or Titan)
The 130 mm jaws are recommended only for the Super Nova and Titan

The NOVA midi is good up to 12" swing. It will take all accessories on this link.
