Several months ago, I purchased Rockler's Dust Right Lathe System . It worked pretty well with a full-sized pen mandrel, but with TBC it was way too large. So, a little pine, a tee nut and bolt, a U-bolt, and a 1-7/8 Vacuum nozzle later:

It collects a lot of the chips, and 99% of the shavings/ribbons/dust... :biggrin:
 
Art, thanks so much for putting those pictures on here. Those changes look like they help a lot! I have one of those too. And have the same types of issues. You don't happen to have dimensions or a few more pictures of the collector? I'd love to add that to my lathe. Thanks Tony

Tony, that's a Ridgid VT1709 Utility Nozzle. It's included with the 1-7/8" Ridgid WD4070 Wet/Dry Vac, and is also available separately as an accessory.
